It's Tuesdays Unwrapped over at Emily Freeman's blog Chatting With the Sky. The assignment?
"Anything that causes you to pause and celebrate the moment. Not what will be or what is to come, but what is real and true this day: the messy, the lovely, and the unexpected. Share a photo, a story, or anything that offers a glimpse into your own journey of discovering the gifts in the midst of the ordinary."
This morning, I sat down to write a quiz for my AP English Literature and Composition class, knowing it would take me thirty minutes or more.
On a whim, I searched my computer to confirm that no, I’d never written a quiz over these particular pages from this particular book.
When lo and behold, I was delighted to find that yes, I had! Over a year ago, in fact!
Later, I told Daniel about my joy at finding the unexpected quiz and gaining a half hour:
“All morning, I’ve been so grateful for Last Year Me!”
Instead of laughing at my silliness, he got that look he gets when I’ve made a memorable point (always pure accident!)
“You know,” he said, “a great question to ask each day would be:
What am I doing today that will make Next Year Me say ‘Thank You!’?”
- What's a "Thank you, Last Year Me!" moment you've had?
- What's something you've done in 2012 that you suspect 2013 You will appreciate?
- Anything else on your heart!
Coming in January!
